• Semantic HTML landmarks and a clear heading structure on every page.
• A skip link and visible keyboard focus on every page.
• A persistent accessibility settings button for colour mode, contrast, text size, reading mode, motion, grayscale, and link underlines.
• High-contrast colour pairings and readable type sizes.
• Plain-language content in Canadian English.
• All decorative animation (snow, trees, the snowman) switches off with reduced motion, whether set in the device or in the settings panel.
• Decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
• Forms with labelled fields, clear errors, and no reliance on colour alone.
• Mobile-first layouts that do not need hover or fine motor control.

The settings button

The accessibility settings button sits near the lower-left corner of every page. It can switch to a dark colour mode, increase contrast, enlarge text, use a plain reading typeface with extra spacing, turn off decorative movement, remove colour, and underline links. Your choices are saved on your device and apply on every visit.

Ongoing checks

Accessibility is reviewed as pages are added: keyboard navigation, focus order, colour contrast, reduced motion, heading structure, link purpose, and screen-reader behaviour.
