How volunteer information is collected, used, and protected.
We collect your first name, last initial, email address, phone number, and home group only for the purpose of coordinating volunteer shifts for this event. Your contact information and home group are visible only to authorized event coordinators and administrators. This information will not be displayed publicly.
What we collect
When you sign up to volunteer, we collect only what we need to schedule shifts:
- First name
- Last initial
- Email address
- Phone number
- Home group ("No home group" and "Prefer not to say" are accepted)
Why we collect it
This information is used only to coordinate volunteer shifts: to sign you in by email, to confirm your bookings, to send shift reminders, and to let coordinators reach you about a shift you have booked. It is not used for anything else and is never sold or shared with other organizations.
Who can see it
Your email address, phone number, and home group are visible only to authorized event coordinators and administrators. Coordinators see contact information only for volunteers booked on the positions they coordinate.
Nothing beyond your first name and last initial (for example, "Jason M.") is ever shown publicly or to other volunteers. We never publicly display your full last name, email address, phone number, or home group, and we avoid publicly identifying anyone as an AA member.
Removing your information
You can ask us to remove your personal information at any time. Email chair@alkathon.ca and we will delete your details from our records.
